The fruit of Ananas comosus is actually a cluster of small fruits called morning glory. This happens after the individual flowers have matured, so their ovaries become thicker and when close together, they are welded together to form a single fruit about 30 cm long. It is protected by a hard, waxy shell consisting of green, yellow or red hexagonal units, formerly the sepals and individual floral notes that have been altered by the combination of fruits.
Above protrudes a short, thick stem, 30 or more leaves, stiff, long, serrated, 10 to 100 cm (sometimes up to 150 cm) long, spirally arranged. The surface of the leaves is covered with a very fine and very short silvery hair that protects them from the sun's rays. The color is light green with a touch of red, purple or yellow.
